People are markets and markets are dialogues. STURM und DRANG draws the consumption reality closer to the economy. Our basis is the emotional, irrational and cultural behavior and experience of the consumers. We put the „human factor“ in the focus of our innovation processes and involve the „working consumer“ in our innovation practice.

Our approach to the world is intuitive, human and emotional all at once. We work using the power of mind and soul in the spirit of the German literary movement Storm and Stress: Sturm und Drang. We are fascinated by people. In particular by the more than 90 % of their behavior that is emotional, irrational and therefore difficult to predict. Their actions, their experiences and their desires together make up a living reality that we want to bring closer to business. We therefore place the human factor at the center of our research and innovation efforts and concentrate above all on uncovering behavioral patterns and initiating behavioral changes.

New energy arises only from the unknown. We focus our activities on art, science and business, and we leave the confines of the ivory tower to do our research. We are in a constant state of flux. Because we see agile innovation as a convincing answer to the consumer cultural paradigm shift. What is needed to be ahead of the curve is an experimental evolution of insights, ideas, concepts and prototypes.

To us, insight is always a matter of interpretation

We champion a new culture of questioning, oriented not just to people but also to cultural interfaces. Consequently we do nothing without first having a cultural understanding. Because like it or not, we are all informed by cultural codes: the implicit paradigms of nation, subculture and socioeconomic milieu in which we grow up. These codes influence corporate structures as well as the culture of consumption in global markets, making it imperative to “crack” them prior to effecting any market launches, relaunches or expansions.

Image, diagram and text combine to form a unified narrative. We visualize insights and ideas. The most incisive analyses and the best ideas often only become comprehensible when they are visualized in a clear manner. That is why we employ design thinking when solving problems. Our semiotic expertise and our expert affinity with visualizations and prototypes help recognize potential benefits and eliminate sources of error early on.

Our added value lies in the performance of our minds. We formulate hypotheses before we conduct analyses. Pattern recognition and precision give us pleasure.
